This research is under the guidance of Mrs. Rostanti Toba, M.Pd as the first advisor, and Mrs. Dini Irawati, M.Pd as the second advisor.
Students' confidence is an essential aspect in English education, especially in the four skills in the English element, of course, it takes factors that can develop and increase students' confidence into English learning even into everyday life. Based on this issue, the researcher decided to reveal the relationship between students' confidence and social support in the 5th Semester English education students of UINSI Samarinda.
This research used a descriptive quantitative method. The subject of this research was TBI 2 in the fifth semester. The data were collected using questionnaire, and then analyzed using Product Moment. Based on the result, the researcher found that there is a significant relationship between social support and students' confidence in 5th semester English education students.
The calculation results between the two variables show a significant relationship between the variables and positive value, which means that if the social support owned by students is good enough, then the self-confidence owned by students will be higher as well. Social support and self-confidence with English learning have a relationship. There is relationship between social support and students’ confidence in English Learning. The statistical analysis of social support and students’ confidence in English Learning shows that the value of coefficient correlation (r) = 0,630. On the other hand, if the social support owned by students is low, the self-confidence that students have will also tend to be low.
