Supervisor: (1) Dr. Umar Fauzan, M. Pd. (2) Dra. Sitti Hadijah, M. Pd. Vocabulary is one of the important components in English that needs to be taught to primary school students. Students must have sufficient vocabulary knowledge to understand English learning correctly. In vocabulary learning, young learners start by knowing the word and focusing on the form and meaning of the word. However, the reality in the field shows that students' vocabulary understanding was still lacking. The research problem was how can the use of crossword puzzle games increase students’ vocabulary of fifth-grade at MI Al-Muna Samarinda in the academic year 2023/2024, the purpose of the research was to increase students' vocabulary of grade fifth-grade at MI Al-Muna Samarinda using Crossword Puzzle Games. This research used a classroom action research design implemented in two cycles. Each cycle contains four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of MI AL-Muna Samarinda in the 2023/2024 school year. Data were collected in this study through observation, documentation, and vocabulary tests to describe the progress of the action. Then the data was collected from the test. The average score and class percentage were used as a representation of students' vocabulary improvement. The findings of this research indicate that there is increasingly in students' vocabulary using Crossword Puzzle Games as seen from the calculation of the comparison between the average score and class percentage in reflection I and reflection II. In cycle I, students' vocabulary knowledge was categorized as low, with an average score of 61.4 and a completion percentage of 33%. However, some students did not reach the KKM. In cycle II, students' vocabulary understanding increased so that students were able to answer vocabulary tests with an increased class average score of 78 and a class completion percentage of 74%. The classroom atmosphere experienced an improvement, students were more active in the teaching and learning process (especially words) as indicated by the observation checklist, and enthusiastic in the learning process.
