Pd as the Advisor I and Rostanti Toba, M. Pd as the Advisor II.
Learning English is very important, because knowing English will make us bilingual and more employable in every country in the world. English is widely regarded as the language of higher education. It is the language that has to be taught formally from elementary schools up to university level and included in Indonesian curriculum. The students are to be supposed to master the four skills in learning English, one of them is reading. In learning English, students have to master two skills, they are receptive skills and productive skills. . The purpose of this research is to find out: The Islamic reading text mastery of the eighth grade of students of MTs. Darul Ihsan Samarinda.
This research design is a descriptive quantitative research.The main instrument is test. The instrument used in this study is a reading test. The population is 159 students and sample is 40 students with use random sampling, it can be taken between 25%. The form of the test are multiple choice and short answer because these forms are easy to administer and possible for students to answer for the items in available time and these forms can also cover the students’ reading text comprehension. The multiple choices consisted of 25 items. The reading test has given to students’ of MTs. Darul Ihsan Samarinda that consists of 40 students.
Based on the analysis above, the research problem of this research could be answered that “Descriptive Study of Studensts’ Reading Text Mastery at The Eighth Grade of MTs. Darul Ihsan Samarinda In Academic Year 2019/2020 was a mean score was 88,7. It is concluded with classification of course (table IX) and the level excellent. It can be concluded that students’ Islamic Reading Test Mastery at The Eighth Grade of MTs.Darul Ihsan Samarinda In Academic Year 2019/2020 was A mastery level or Excellent. Students’ are able to understand the Islamic test well as following : Praying, mosque, prophet, fasting, and zakat with excellent value.
