The background of the research is to find out teaching material especially in English students’ worksheet that support critical thinking skill to achieve effective learning goals. In theory of Bloom Taxonomy which discusses about critical thinking skill on cognitive level. Cognitive level divided into 6 categories as follow remembering level, understanding level, applying level, analyzing level, evaluating level and creating level. This research aimed: (1) to know any cognitive levels were on the students’ worksheet (LKS) at second grade MIN 2 Selili Samarinda, and (2) to know most dominant cognitive levels of students’ worksheet (LKS) at second grade MIN 2 Selili Samarinda.
The qualitative method is used for this research. This research has two instruments as follow primary and secondary. The primary instrument in this research by the researcher and in secondary instrument of this research is English students’ worksheet (LKS). Next, to collect the data, researcher used each unit activity in the English students’ worksheet and appropriate as any one of the following table of instructional verbs or questioning stems based on six categories of cognitive level theory Bloom Taxonomy. In data analysis technique, according to Matthew B. Miles, A. Michael Huberman and Johnny Saldana suggests that the data analysis can be explained as consisting as three current flows of activity as follow data display, data condensation and conclusion (drawing/verification). The subject of the research for this research was contained 4 chapter with 339 activity/question.
The result of this research showed that the cognitive level in students’ worksheet (LKS) at second grade MIN 2 Selili Samarinda in academic year 2021 namely were remembering level (C1), understanding level (C2), applying level (C3) and analyzing level (C4). However, cognitive level of evaluating level (C5) and creating level (C6) were not found on this students’ worksheet. Moreover, the most dominant cognitive levels of students’ worksheet (LKS) was remembering level (83.8%).
